Our Process

DLP Custom Kitchens takes the guesswork out of the personalized kitchen design process. Whether it’s a kitchen for a new house, a total kitchen makeover including floors, or simply a new counter top and sink, the basic process is always the same.

The DLP Process

Call or email Dan to set up an in-home consultation.
Dan will meet with you on-site and measure up your space to ensure the accuracy of your new kitchen design.
Dan will discuss your layout preferences and assist you in choosing your style, materials and finishes. (For example: appliance locations, door pattern and finish, counter top selection, sink and faucet style, and accessories such as storage pull-outs and lazy susans)
Dan will present a 3D digital design drawing and a top view layout drawing of your project as well as a detailed estimate for the complete project.
In consultation with you, a tentative installation date will be established.
Dan will line up all the trades needed to make your project run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing down time in your kitchen.
The project will then be installed and completed according to the estimated installation times specified for your individual project.

Estimated Installation Times

Every DLP Custom Kitchen is unique and we pride ourselves on providing accurate time estimates on every project. Here, for information purposes, are some typical time lines for our projects:

The cabinet installation for a new kitchen usually takes 2–3 days.
If you have specified a solid surface countertop, we will install your cabinets first, and then prepare a precise countertop template.
New counter top installations will only take a couple of hours.
There is a generally a 10–15 business day wait time until the custom solid surface tops are prepared and ready for installation. During that time, a temporary counter top will be installed and a temporary sink can be hooked up to minimize down time in your kitchen.
A complete kitchen makeover including floors, cabinetry and tiling back splash, can be completed in approximately 2–4 weeks.
